First off, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the wonderful father's and future father's out there. This year was Ethan's first Father's Day celebration. Although our little one is still swimming, it is alive; therefore, Ethan is a father. There were so many things I wanted to get Ethan and do for him, but money was my enemy. Luckily, I talked to Aubrey 3 days before and she showed me this fun little food idea to try. I'm sure many of you ladies have heard of, or seen Bakerella.blogspot.com. This is where I got this darling idea...... A Fast Food Treat! I knew Eth would like this because he absolutely LOVES hamburgers. My 3-day adventure began on Thursday:Here is the honorary (future) Father of the day!
Although the finished product turned out to be respectable, the process was not so easy. Let's just say, this is NOT an activity for beginner bakers. I HAD SOME STRUGGLES..............
Actually, I hate baking. This is why this project was such a masterpiece for me.
Here are the lovely, sugar-cookie french fries. I made a mistake here too. I was in such a hurry at the time that I forgot to cut them in half to make them skinnier and more realistic. The ending result = Steak Fries
I got the fry boxes from DQ, made my own Happy Father's Day signs from paper,
used brownies for the burgers, cake mix cupcakes for the buns, cugar cookies for
the fries, and colored frosting for the sauces. (Ketchup, mustard, lettuce) CUTE
WALAH! That's about as good as it gets for me.
Unfortunately for me, I did not get to fully surprise Ethan with his gift. I decided to give one to our Bishop at church, so I put one in his office. Then, "Mr. Executive Secretary" (Ethan) of course had to go to the Bishop's office at some point during our meetings, so he happened to notice the final creation on Bishop's desk. Despite this somewhat frustrating news, he still managed to give me a 2nd good reaction :)
I also stopped at my parents house to give my Dad one and wish him a Happy Father's Day too. He ate the whole entire thing right then and there and said they were delicious! Haha

I had some extras so I gave my Mom and Maddie one too--just for fun.
Altogether, it was a success. I finished my once in a lifetime project and I made the men happy. The smiles they shared, and the hugs they gave me made it worth it; however, the whole cooking process.... I'm not so sure. Attempt at your own risk.

I love to bake, but I still don't think I would attempt something so ambitious! Way to go Ash.
You know, this wasn't exactly the post I was hoping for today...didn't you have an appointment to tell about?
I think you should do them again because imagine how much smoother it will go! Practice makes perfect right?
